Outdoor Activities at Jigg’s Landing
Whatever you picture when you here the phrase “fun in the sun,” there’s a good chance you can find it at Jigg’s Landing. This freshwater reservoir is the perfect spot for boating, and launches make it easy and accessible when you want to launch a kayak or canoe. You’re also welcome to cast a line if you want to go fishing, as there’s a hearty bass population blow the surface. On land, kids can explore the nature-themed playground, and you can also visit the wildlife viewing areas for a glimpse at the creatures that call the preserve home. Boardwalks lead you through the scenic surroundings to let you see the natural beauty where the land meets the water, and there are plenty of vistas to catch a perfect sunset at the day’s end.
Boat Rentals
If you want to enjoy all that the landing has to offer, but you don’t have a boat of your own, that’s nothing to worry about. You can easily rent a boat for your outing thanks to the Jigg’s Landing Outpost. At the outpost, you can rent a kayak or canoe if you want to paddle around, or even a Jon boat for plenty of room for your tackle box and fishing rods. Use of the boat ramp is free of charge. A dam guards the reservoir from the salt water on the other side, so you won’t have to think twice about red tide during your visit.
Staying at Jigg’s Landing Preserve
If an afternoon isn’t enough time to do everything you want to enjoy at the landing, you don’t have to go when the sun sets. You can stay right on the water’s edge by renting a cabin at the site. Just check with the Jigg’s Landing Outpost about availability and rates. While you’re staying, you can enjoy added entertainment like the live music put on by the outpost seven nights per week. You can also reserve the site’s large pavilion for special occasions, complete with benches, picnic tables, and grills.

You’ll find At Jigg’s Landing Preserve located at 6106 63rd Street East, Bradenton, Florida 34203. It’s open from sunrise to sunset each day. If you want to utilize boat ramp access outside of regular hours, you can purchase a gate access card to come ashore or set sail whenever you need to. These access cards are available through the G.T. Bray Recreation Center for a one-time fee.
