Since the inception of the award in 1994 the Honda Civic has been nominated eleven times and this is its second win, after bringing home the title a decade ago in 2006.

The 10th generation Honda Civic was redesigned inside and out with a new sporty and sophisticated overhaul inside and out. The Civic now features a more spacious upgraded cabin and a plethora of new technologies and safety features, including Apple CarPlay, Andriod Auto, and Honda Sensing.

The 2016 Civic comes with improved fuel efficiency regardless of which engine or Trim you go with, and for the first time in US history, the Honda Civic can be purchased with Honda turbo engine technology. It runs on a 158-horsepower 2-liter or a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder for 174 horsepower. This is actually the first turbocharged engine that Honda has mass-produced. Either engine delivers 31 mpg city while the base engine gets 42 mpg on the highway and the turbocharged gets 41 mpg*.
