2016 Honda Pilot: Collision Mitigation Braking System
The 2016 Honda Pilot uses advanced technology to help keep drivers safer on the road. The Pilot’s available Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistive technologies includes the Collision Mitigation Braking System, or CMBS.
The Collision Mitigation Braking System helps minimize the likelihood of a collision or mitigate the severity if one is unavoidable. The Pilot constantly monitors the road ahead with a millimeter wave radar sensor behind the grill and camera behind the windshield.
CMBS can help bring the Pilot to a stop when it determines a forward collision is unavoidable. When the possibility of a collision is detected, the CMBS system will display a visual warning in the multi-information display, sound an alert, and if necessary, automatically apply brake pressure.
