17th Avenue West Park
This park has it made in the shade – the shade of its dozens of majestic oak trees, that is. For those seeking something active, there are tennis and pickleball courts and all types of playground equipment for the little ones. Pack a lunch and make a day of it; there are picnic tables and a gazebo as well as trash cans and public restrooms.
John & Rebecca Neal Park
The only community gardens site in Bradenton, John & Rebecca Neal Park is nestled on the the waterfront of Wares Creek. The shallow waters and easy kayak launch makes this a great place for novice kayakers to test their skills. There is also an observation pier that has great views and can be used for fishing. The gardens feature 47 plots and a charming red barn tool shed.

Veterans’ Monument Park
This park was built to honor veterans of our nation’s military. With several monuments standing in tribute to those who served in Vietnam and Korea as well as one in honor of all branches of the United States Armed Forces, this park is a solemn reminder of military sacrifice. While not a recreation park, Veterans’ Monument Park is well worth a visit to pay your respects at this Bradenton landmark.
