The Giant Helmet in Bradenton is exactly what it sounds like. It is literally a huge helmet that sits off to the side of the road. It is right by Motorsports Park and Desoto Speedway, and you’ll definitely want to stop by and take a photo of it and next to it. This oddity is a great one to see for adults and kids alike, so make sure you bring your camera along when you go and see it.
The Strawberry Man, Alva
If you drive along the roads of Alva, there’s a good chance you’ll come across the strawberry man. If you have young kids in the car, they will definitely notice this attraction. The strawberry man stands just over 10 feet tall, so he can easily be spotted from afar. Not only is he tall, but he has distinguished features, such as oversize hands and feet. He also wears huge sunglasses and he displays a grin. You will be amused by the way this fruit statue looks, but do take a photo with him.
It’s worth pointing out that the statue is located right on a farm. When the season permits, they grow strawberries and there is a market. After you take a few photos with the strawberry man, you are encouraged to check out the produce at the market, which also features furniture and crafts that are locally made.
Headless Dinosaur Statue, Brooksville
The headless dinosaur statue is just that, a dinosaur statue with no head. The sculpture was first spotted in the early 70s, and it doesn’t look like it was damaged. It appears that the creator died before he could finish it. Nevertheless, you should head to Brooksville and take a glimpse of the sculpture.
